Senior Firmware Engineer – Smart Metering Systems

We are looking for an experienced and highly autonomous Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team in Turin. You will play a pivotal role in the development of advanced embedded firmware for smart metering systems, focusing on legally-relevant software architecture, secure boot processes, and metering communication protocols. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to critical technologies in the energy domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for smart AC metering devices

• Independently manage assigned tasks and ensure timely delivery of robust and compliant firmware solutions

• Architect firmware modules with clear separation between Legally Relevant and Non-Relevant software

• Implement secure-boot and secure-download mechanisms to guarantee firmware integrity and device security

• Ensure full compliance with relevant standards, including WELMEC guidelines

• Integrate and manage metering communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, MBus, and potentially DLMS)

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, validation, and certification teams

Requisiti:

Requirements:

• Proven experience (5+ years) in embedded firmware development, preferably within the metering or smart energy domain

• Strong knowledge of Legally Relevant/Non-Relevant software separation practices

• Experience in secure-boot and secure firmware download implementation

• Familiarity with WELMEC standards and legal metrology requirements

• Proficiency with communication protocols such as Modbus and MBus

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
