Posizione:

We are currently looking for a Senior Prototyping Expert to join our R&D Department and take on a pivotal position and eventually develop our Prototyping Team. In this role, you will be responsible for the building and development of a high-performance Prototyping unit, promoting cross-functional collaboration particularly with the R&D department, so to implement innovative concepts efficiently and swiftly through functional and design prototypes. You will have a hands-on approach and work closely with our R&D teams as well as external stakeholders, providing solid technical support, as well as innovative and functional prototype components and parts.

Main Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for developing prototype components for motorcycle apparel and safety gear, as well as for related mechatronics systems, also taking into account aesthetics, material combinations and innovative concepts.
• You will be in charge of establishing, developing, coordinating and managing a prototype supplier network.
• Moreover, you will also be responsible for the setup and organisation of an in-house prototyping facility including 3D printing, 5-axis milling, laser cutting as well as other rapid production techniques.

Requisiti:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Technology, Mechatronics and/or related field.
• Extensive proven experience in Prototyping Manufacturing, particularly in plastics processing.
• Previous experience in establishing and managing a supplier network for prototype production.
• Hands-on expertise in 3D printing, CNC milling, laser cutting and other rapid production technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of CAD-CAM design and manufacturing processes.
• Solid hands-on craftmanship skills in prototype building, particularly using plastics and composite materials.
• Previous experience in prototyping design for both visual and functional feasibility studies will be considered an asset.
• Excellent communication skills and a problem-solving mindset will be a must have.
• Hands-on and structured approach, so to combine strategic planning with operational implementation.
• Previous managerial experience will be considered a plus.
• Fluency in English will be a must have.
• Strong interest in the motorcycle industry will also represent a solid plus.
